Golden Gate Bridge and update

Here is a mix of what we've been up to in the last month or so. I've been pretty busy with school and work so I haven't got the time or energy to get creative on here, which is why these posts will be mainly of pictures. Takes a lot less time ;)
So here we go..

Goden Gate Park. Yes, again =0
Apparently we're really into jumping in pics?

Here is Adam who was annoyed because I snapped the picture too late to catch his high jump. Not looking too happy there....

On to different day:
Here is a funky dog who belongs to a barber on Polk St. Btw, dogs here are extremely popular. They are everywhere and get to walk around most of the city without a leash. It really makes me want one =/
He is a Poodle with a mohawk. And its dyed different colors...friendly too!

Mural again, in the Mission (obvs)
Adam really wanted a picture with his idol...lol

This last weekend, Adam and I had our engagement pictures taken here in the city. They were taken on a trolley, Coit Tower, Ferry Building and various street/urban shots. I can't wait to see them! I wore a cotton white dress and Adam wore a while button down and blue jeans. We should be getting the proofs in next week or so.

Sunday we took an extremely long walk that began in the Marina, and we ended up walking all the way to, and across the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time ever. I had driven across it but never walked. It was so much fun, and an unexpected event. By the time I made it back home, I thought my body was going to collapse! lol. But the day was too gorgeous to not take full advantage of.

Crissy field is along the bay. Its a great grassy park area where people go to fly kites, play sports, and walk their dogs (of course). There is a pier there where people go to fish...
This little girl was so excited to show off this starfish she got. She ran to her dad right after this pic to show him. So cute!

A group of fishers showed us the crabs they caught and insisted I hold one...I really didn't want to, but finally gave in.

I look so comfortable.

Walking along Crissy Field, we went up the stairs to get to the Bridge.

Way in the back is "the city". We walked pretty far!

A look down from the bridge. All the sailboats were out that day.

On the way back there were a bunch of people balancing the beach rocks. The little girl shows them in scale ;)

Golden Gate Park, my best friend

Just a quick post about this past weekend. The weather here has been amazingly beautiful and warm.
It was this kind of day:

Just a few blocks from my place is this pretty building. Its a place of worship.

I really wanted to go to the park and enjoy the day last Sunday so we left at about noon and took the MUNI to the park. Many people had the same idea.

We heard loud big band style music playing, so we followed it and found this
This looked like so much fun!

Some were actually pretty good...

Lovely little bridge in Stow Lake

Randomness and Happy 2009

Hi everyone, I hope everyone had a lovely New Year's Eve/Day. I had a very mellow one. Just dinner and drinks here in the city.

Adam and I went to go see MILK at the Sundance Kabuki theater, in Japantown. Its very cute and modern. Its designed to be a "green" style theater. It also has a bar and is just a hipster place to catch a flick. You also purchase by seat which is nice.

I really loved that movie, its great and all takes place in San Francisco. It was fun to catch all the references made in the movie to different areas, places, and people in the city. They also made several comments about Orange County.

I try not to go to Union Sqr., very often but it does have the only Macy's close by. Like many of you know, there are plenty of "interesting" things so see when walking around certain parts of the city. Just ourside Macy's on Powell St., I came accross this...

Here is a closer look.

Yes, this definitely defies all laws of nature. And yes, they were very real.

So one of my new year's resolutions is to walk to work in the morning instead of taking the Muni. I love it! I've stuck to it all week and I will try to do this every morning unless its raining. Or I wake up way too late. Which sometimes happens. A lot.

Hmmmm, lets see...what else is new....

I love these cute lattes

Candi is a ham

Thia last picture is of a wall in the Mission District. I think its beautiful...

The weather is supposed to be pretty nice this weekend - for SF standards, so I hope to get some fun pics to post. Have a great weekend everyone!

Its officially COLD in the city..

Ok, so I knew the weather was too good to be true for so long, we truly had pretty great weather, until yesterday. Wow, was it cold!

The good thing though is that it really makes it feel like Christmas time, and so its time for scarfs, hats, warm coats, Uggs, and a delicious hot drink to hold in your hands.
Green chi tea...Mmmmm...

Yesterday we made out way to Union Square for some holiday shopping. Just us and tons of tourists! We all know how terrible the economy is, so I was shoked at how many people were out shopping at Macy's yesterday.

Union Sq., is turned into a holiday wonderland, complete with an ice rink, a huge lit tree, and about a dozen or so people dressed in Santa Suits. Yes, seriously.

I love the randomness you see here sometimes. There were about 8 counples on motorcycles riding around the area and stopping for pictures. Their bikes and their clothes were covered decorated in christmas lights. They were so bright when they lined up all together. I did my best to get some shots but my camera is terrible at night (pretty obvious by the quality of the pics on this post).

Here are a few more christmas theme pics:

Gatta go, I've got some papers to write!

Back from hiatus? =/

Sorry for the disappearing act but I've had a lot going on for quite a while now, and lets face it...I'm not that great at juggling too many things properly, so some things slip through the cracks, and it has mainly been my "keeping in touch" skills.

So, we're planning our wedding (which for a while had me traveling between SF and OC quite A LOT), I'm finishing up the semester, and I am trying to work as many hours as I can in my job. Whew!

But, things are finally mellowing out a bit, and I've got some fun things coming up this holiday season. I'm going to my work Christmas party which will take place this next Friday at the Ritz Carlton that is about 5 minutes away from where I work in the Financial District. I ordered myself a lovely filet mignon entree - can't wait!
Next, I will going to Candi's work holiday party a week from Friday, and there are other fun things which I will write later about.

The Ritz SF:

Adam and I are quite the walkers - or should I say hikers (some of these hills still surprise me) on the weekends. This is such an amazing city to walk and explore, I literally look forward to walking around on the weekends that we're here. This last weekend alone we walked about 8 or nine miles all together.

Found this crazy homemade bike we saw in Little Italy on Sunday...

Also in that neighborhood we found this great church that I LOVED, these pictures don't do it justice - its so beautiful!

A dreary day indeed...

This last pic for this post I took a few weeks ago. Adam, Candi and myself had been on a quest to find the famous Painted Ladies that are on most tourist lists as a "must see". We tracked them down and here they are:

Kinda disappointing, they look like most old Victorians & Edwardians that are all over the city. But at least we got to scratch that off our list of places to see here.

Big News.......We're ENGAGED!

I am so excited to say that as of this past Saturday night, Adam and I got engaged. He surprised me with a drive up to Coit Tower which is a prominent San Francisco landmark that has sweeping views of the city and the bay.
It was about 9pm when we arrived and he wanted for us to see the view to the Golden Gate Bridge, and there at the top with all the twinkling city lights below us, he got down on one knee and proposed. It was the most romantic moment of my life, and after lingering for a long while up there, we left to get a drink at Hotel Nikko to celebrate and followed with dinner at the cutest restaurant called First Crush which he had made reservation at. Very appropriate ;)

We're so happy, and with him now living in the city (approximately 1 mile away from my place) life is great!

Adam Arrives (yay!) and Fleet Week

So Adam is making a LONG drive up to the bay all the way from Orange County today. He loaded up the big truck he rented and left OC at about 7am, arriving up here at about 3pm. It was an obstacle for him seeing that he didn't have his iPod with him, the truck had no CD player, he couldn't go faster than about 60mph, and to make all matters worse, Sofie who he was transporting in her kennel had terrible motion sickness the entire way and lets just say she got sick in every way possible =/

So they finally made it here and are all set to go. Next up we will see the Blue Angels tomorrow for the beginning of Fleet Week. I love the air show because I remember going to see them with my family as a kid many times at the El Toro base. Candi, Adam and I plan on walking down to the Marina Green at about noon to get a spot, eat some picnic food and watch the show. Can't wait!
