Happy Spring

They weather has been pretty nice around here. I love the city especially when its sunny outside. Its beautiful!
This last weekend was spent outside mostly. I am officially a freelance makeup artist now, as I had my first job in Walnut Creek. It was great. The three women who's makeup I did were very nice and it was good experience for me.
Aside from that, Adam and I spend a lot of time outdoors, and enjoying the days.

We met early on Saturday to pick up some breakfast to eat by the bay in the Marina. We went for a nice walk after this...

What I find most funny here, is that when the days are nice people head down to the beach just like in SoCal...however there is one HUGE difference as you can see...

Yep - its still too cold to wear a bathing suit! Everyone is usually fully dressed, lol.

Last Thursday a group of us went to check out the brand new California Academy of Science building in Golden Gate Park. It was very fun, but we missed a few of the highlights so next time we will have to get there earlier and not waste time.
We walked through and entire Underground Aquarium, and saw some Tarantulas, the outside of the tropical rain forest bubble thing, and we went up to the "live roof" where we saw Jupiter through a huge telescope.
All the while they had DJ's mixing dance music that could be heard throughout the entire place. There were some interesting people dancing it up as well.

Thinking of that Aquarius song from 40 yr Old V. lol

Creepy huge fish:

On a different day...
Here is Civic Center on my walk to the MUNI station about 1/2 a mile form where I live. I was on my way to catch the train to school, and thought it was a good day for a courthouse picture =)

Ghirardelli Deliciousness

A little while back we set foot out to an area we try to steer clear from...Fisherman's Warf (shreek!). Its great if its your first time in the city but its definitely not a place where locals go. Its like going to Times Square when you live in NYC (right Kayleigh). However, we walked down there on a particular Saturday afternoon and just had to stop by Ghiradelli Square to have one of their infamouse ice cream sundays...a must try when you are feeling indulgent. And since we walked down there we thought we'd treat ourselves.
Lowe and behold: The Cookie Bottom Sunday

Happy Campers =)

One of us looks kinda scary =o

Golden Gate Bridge and update

Here is a mix of what we've been up to in the last month or so. I've been pretty busy with school and work so I haven't got the time or energy to get creative on here, which is why these posts will be mainly of pictures. Takes a lot less time ;)
So here we go..

Goden Gate Park. Yes, again =0
Apparently we're really into jumping in pics?

Here is Adam who was annoyed because I snapped the picture too late to catch his high jump. Not looking too happy there....

On to different day:
Here is a funky dog who belongs to a barber on Polk St. Btw, dogs here are extremely popular. They are everywhere and get to walk around most of the city without a leash. It really makes me want one =/
He is a Poodle with a mohawk. And its dyed different colors...friendly too!

Mural again, in the Mission (obvs)
Adam really wanted a picture with his idol...lol

This last weekend, Adam and I had our engagement pictures taken here in the city. They were taken on a trolley, Coit Tower, Ferry Building and various street/urban shots. I can't wait to see them! I wore a cotton white dress and Adam wore a while button down and blue jeans. We should be getting the proofs in next week or so.

Sunday we took an extremely long walk that began in the Marina, and we ended up walking all the way to, and across the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time ever. I had driven across it but never walked. It was so much fun, and an unexpected event. By the time I made it back home, I thought my body was going to collapse! lol. But the day was too gorgeous to not take full advantage of.

Crissy field is along the bay. Its a great grassy park area where people go to fly kites, play sports, and walk their dogs (of course). There is a pier there where people go to fish...
This little girl was so excited to show off this starfish she got. She ran to her dad right after this pic to show him. So cute!

A group of fishers showed us the crabs they caught and insisted I hold one...I really didn't want to, but finally gave in.

I look so comfortable.

Walking along Crissy Field, we went up the stairs to get to the Bridge.

Way in the back is "the city". We walked pretty far!

A look down from the bridge. All the sailboats were out that day.

On the way back there were a bunch of people balancing the beach rocks. The little girl shows them in scale ;)
